How to Safely Dispose of Mice Droppings

With colder weather here, mice are making their way inside of homes; and its important for you to understand how to safely dispose of mice droppings. Mice are a major concern for many reasons, but what do you do after they are dealt with and you're left with the nests and droppings? It's critical to dispose of mouse droppings, as they are known to contain many viruses and bacteria that are a major concern for us.

Here are proper steps to get rid of mice droppings and urine, as outlined by the CDC:

First

Make sure to put on rubber or plastic gloves.

Next

You want to make sure to soak with disinfectant until wet for at least 5 minutes.

Afterwards

You want to use a paper towel to wipe up the affected area. Make sure to dispose of these paper towels in a garbage can that is emptied regularly.

Then

You want to make sure to mop or sponge clean the area with more disinfectant

Hold on!

You’re not quite done yet…Before removing your gloves make sure to wash with soap and water or more disinfectant.

Finally

You want to wash your hands with soap and warm water after removing your gloves.
